Colour Pop holiday 2014 swatches and review

 

 

I was so excited when I learned colour pop was coming out with holiday sets so the second day they came out I got two sets. The first big set is called not a box of chocolate. It hold six all new limited edtion shades. The cost is $30.

The second set I got is called never naughty which was $20.

Snow flurry,sugar plum,dasher,etiquette

So I've had this shadows for awhile and as I'm sipping my gingerbread latte Im wondering why I'm not as happy with these as I was with the other colour pop regular non limited edtion shadows. I think the main reason is because the shadows arn't as pigmented as the normal ones are. I tried to wear the purple shadow yesterday in dasher and it looked like a sheer wash of light purple. I was hoping it would have been more pigmented but no matter how much I packed it on with my finger it still looked muted. I feel like all the shadows lacked pigmentation. I love colour pop shadows so I wish the shadows would of have a pop like their usual ones do.

Let me tell you if you like blush as much as I do then check out this blush set. It's from benefit and it is their cheeky sweet spot blockbuster kit. It has six of their iconic box o blushes,a brush,and watts up highlighter.

 



 

 

 

 

Look at how pretty the colors of the blushes are!!

There not as big as the ones in the regular boxes but there not tiny either. They all also have a nice rose fresh scent to them.

 

The first three blushes in the palette are all variations of pink blushes. Dandelion color is a light soft pale pink color which doesnt show up well on my skintone. bella bamba was a blush I was so looking forward too. It is a beautiful pink color with gold glitters. Sugar bomb is more of a light pink shimmer highlighter. I usually put it ontop of another blush.

 

 

I had the sugar bomb box o blush already and the first is the box blushes. The box blush is pinker and more pigmented but next to eachother their very similar.

 

Next set of three blushes. Hoola is a matte bronzer and a mid tone color. I use to own the coralista blush and I remember it use to be more pink. The one in this kit is more peachy.

Rockateur looks like the perfect blush for the fall and winter!

It looks like a deep rose color.

 

 

If you have been wanting to try out the benefit blush boxes you should think about getting this palette. I tried to get it online at Sephora and Ulta but it was sold out but in my Sephora store I found it one of the last time.

 

 

 



Colour pop super shock shadows review and swatches

My new favorite brand of eyeshadows is Colour Pops super shock shadows. The quality of the shadows is so amazing rivaling high end makeup brand companies.

It's a brand that finally incorporates shimmer and looks like a pigment that was applied wet, That uber shiny metallic look!

 

They have different finishes to their eyeshadows and they are,mettalic,satin,and pressed pigment. I love all the finishes but my favorite is the metallic finish because it is so glittery.

I got eight color and the first I'll talk about is the darker colors I bought.

1. Krinkle: is a blue gray mettalic
2. Friskie: is a black with big silver shimmers
3. Slave2Pink: is a bright neon pink with duo chrome blue sheen
4. Hustle:is a dark cool toned brown burgendy

So I also got four warm toned shadows. My thought was that atleast one of them could also be used as a blush and animal looks amazing used lightly as a blush.

NYX lipstick reviews purples and nude colors

 

About a month ago Ulta was having a sale on nyx lipsticks and so it was the perfect time to pick up six shades. The ones that caught my eye were the purple shades because I wanted to find some affordable purple lipsticks. These are regular price 3.99 where ever nyx is sold.

 

 

Here are the first three shadows a pink and two purples. Out of the three I like the light purple. it is the middle swatch.

Here the swatches of the nude shades.I actually like all of them. I love neutral nudes and this is a nice variety of them. Honey is a skin tone shade. Pure nude is actually a light pink nude. Pumpkin pie is a mauve peach color.

 

NYX butter gloss review

 

If you've ever wondered about the nyx butter glosses then I'm so glad your here. I'll talk about the colors I have,the wear of them,and the consistency.

So let's first talk about the colors I chose. I bought four neutral soft shades that I knew I would wear.

 

CREME BRULE

 

First up is my favorite and the one I wear most. It is a beautiful light baby pink nude color. It is a more sheer color so on the lips it is a light wash of color. This color goes with any eyeshadow look i wear.

TIRAMISU

Tiramisu is my second favorite butter gloss. It's a mauve nude that shows more pigmented on the lips. It looks good with a smoky brown eye.

Peaches and Cream

Now this is a statement gloss if I've ever seen one. From the name I would have expected a nude peach color but it is a bright orange color. It sheers out on the lips but it still shines bright on the lips. I would pair it with a a tad eyeliner and your good to go.

 

Last in one I wanted to try so bad. It's called merengue and I thought it would be the perfect lilac lipgloss but it actually turns more pink on my lips. I do not know why it does that but I wish it would have stayed a lilac color. I would pair it with a light gold eyeshadow look.

 

 

 

So the wear is pretty decent. Atleast an hour of wear. I do notice I can't layer the lipgloss over lipsticks. When I tried it made the lipstick patchy under neath. Thats probably the only con I can think about it.

 

The consistency is not sticky at all. It is soft and applies even to the lips. It actually makes my lips softer.

 



So they're a great addition to anyones lipgloss collection and the vanilla scent just makes it even more desirable.

L.A girls Lip paint GLAZED review of six colors

 

 

 

 

L.A Girl lip paint has recently come out with lip paints said to be liquid lip color with shine. They come in a lot of different of colors. I bought this set on ebay and it came with the bright colors of the collection. I usually wear nude beige colors on my lips but I want to try out other colors for a change. These colors are really intense bright colors. Exactly what the name is because it looks like bright paint. The colors are opaque and bright. People will see your lipstick before anything else. So most of the colors are out of my comfort zone.Especially the orange one which looks like bright neon solid orange on.

 

 

1. The first on is called "hot mess" an orange color that is a straight up bright orange color that is almost a neon shade
2. next is "pin up" a ruby red that is not as opaque as the rest but I can totally see myself wearing it for the holiday season
3. "babydoll" is a true white pink barbie color

 

 

 

 

 

 

1. "bombshell" is a magenta hot pink color
2. I got this set mostly because I wanted to try out a purple lipstick but "coy" is a tad to dark for me. It looks too intense on my lips. With my big lips colors can look too funny.
3. out of the colors"blushing" is my favorite because it is a mauve that looks very well suited for me
 

 

This is the applicator it has.

The formula is quite watery so be careful not to squeeze to hard. The consistency is of a watery lipgloss. it is not thick like a lipstick.

 

I think I would like these better if I had gotten them in natural nude shades. I just don't have the courage to go out of the house wearing neon orange lips.

If you like mega intense colors I think these would more than impress thats why I think in the future I'll want to get there more natural shades.
