The Color Of The Year MARSALA Sephora Blush and Eyeshadow swatches and reviews

Every year Pantone Universe picks a color of the year and this year it is Marsala. A brown nuetral rose hued color. To me it's a maroon color.
So Sephora comes out with makeup items in the color of the year and I have two of them to review today.
Both can be found at Sephora in store and online but don't wait to long these are limited edtion.
The eyeshadow palette retails for $39 and the blush palette retails for $28.

I really adore this eyeshadow palette! It is packed full of mostly warm toned colors and a few other eyeshadows colors that would comnpliment the Marsala shades.
It has twenty five shades in the palette and I have swatched all them below
with going left first row to the last row.

I'm a blush girl at heart and so I knew I had to pick up this blush palette. I usually wear deeper colors on my cheeks so I knew I would be using this palette all the time. They include a highlight in this palette and it has a light pink sheen to it. I wish it would have been a more golden sheen because the blush is so warm toned that it could look odd with a light pink glow. It also comes with a light peach blush which is quite sheer and can be used to top the Marsala shade to make it more wearable on many skintones.
If I had to describe the color of the Marsala blush it would be that it looks very similar to the benefit dallas blush shade.

Overall I love the two items I've picked up and have used both every time I do my makeup.
If your looking to wear the Marsala trend these items are a one stop shop because it can give you so many variations of the shade. One day you could do a intense maroon eye and the next just a wearable light sweep of color on the lid.

What are your thoughts on the color of the year Marsala?

Hello Kitty 40th anniversary pop up 20 shadow review and swatches

This is the Hello kitty limited edition Sephora 40 th anniversay 20 shadow palette.
It retails for $52 dollers but I looked in the sale section of Sephora and saw that it's on sale for $26 dollers. It is such an amazing deal!
I don't know how longer it'll be on sale.
There is all kinds of different eyeshadow colors in this palette ranging from nuetrals to bright colors.

It has a clear plastic sheet over the colors with the names of the shadows on it.

Here it looks without the plastic ontop of it. So it is kind of a shame that the names arn't printed on the actual palette inself. Especially because the colors have such cute names like "kitty-chan".

I was on the fence on purchasing this product because I didn't know how good the pigmentation of the colors would be. From my first swatch I was floored. It the best quality of pigmentation you could hope for. Only some of the shadows can be powdery like "anniversary" but even with it being powdery it is still so pigmented.

Now onto the swatches of the shadows which is probably why you came to see.

Here is the first two rows of the palette.
Great purples and teals and blues.

This section has a great periwinkle blue on the top left that I can't wait to wear. The second row is great soft nuetral browns making it a great everyday eye look.

This last row is so nice. The colors are so cranberry warm toned and shimmery.

It even has a cute pop up portion on the top of hello kitty. The packaging on this is amazing and the colors are amazing. A great gift for any hello kitty fan or somebody who just likes really good shadows!

Then something promising is the kat von D eyeliner in Trooper.

For being free it was a pretty nice perk!

Anatasia Tamana palette swatches and review

Meet my new favorite palette! It blew me away when I first applied it. I had never tried any anatasia products before so I didn't know what to expect from this palette. I had only seen a few reviews for this so I bought it with not much confidence. When I opened the packaging I instantly fell inlove with the box. It's a beautiful mauve with mettalic gold designs.
Not only is it beautiful but it's only twenty nine dollars and compared to other palettes that retail for fifty dollers this is such a good value!
I bought it at ulta and be aware it is limited edition so if you like what you see be sure to pick it up asap.

It holds ten eyeshadows ranging from neutral to acouple pops of colors.

This is usually the time were I tell you guys my favorite colors in the palette but I truly love all the colors! I can honestly type that I would use all the colors for all kind of different looks.
I love the chocolate brown shade in the palette becasue it's the perfect transition color that works for so many colors. The teal blue named Venezia is so gorgeous and long lasting.

I love that it comes with eyeyshadow card looks and my favorite is the one with the pop of teal.

It has a step by step guide making it so easy for me to recreate the look. Plus side is my Husband actually complimented me on this eyeshadow look which he usually never does.

here is pictures of the other eyeshadow look cards that came with it.

IS IT WORTH IT?

Yes Yes Yes

This is the perfect palette for fall and winter. This is sitting on my vanity because everyday I'm so excited to wear it and see what kind of combinations I can create.

Too Faced Everything Nice holiday 2014 limited edition palette

So the holidays are coming early well atleast to makeup companies they are. This pallete released in September and I knew I had to get it early this time because last year I tried waiting till December to get the Too Faced 2013 palette and it was sold out. So I picked it up days after it was released and have been testing it out ever since.
The palette contains twenty eyeshadows, two blushes, one bronzer, highlighter, three piece blush set, mascara, and a glitter makeup bag.

Since there is so many shadows I decided to showcase four of my favorite light colors and then five of the darker colors. The top two shadows are my favorite eyshadow duo.
  • The first is called"Shiny Happy" and that is highly mettalic pigmented white gold, perfect for inner corner highlighting.
  • Next is "Be You" which is a matte lavender hue.

  • Next row are both shimmer shades. "Marvelous" a glittery light baby purple. It is a sheer wash of color.
  • The one to to the right of it is "Don't settle" a tan brown glitter.

Now this palette also had some really great deeper colors that I will use on so much looks.
  • The first color I'll talk about is "Head over heels" a ultra chuncky glittery sheer blue color. It does need multiple coats to achive a deep color.
  • The very top color is"Knock out" a deep matte chestnut color
  • The one below that is"Secret Lovers" a green brown shimmer shade
  • "Kindness is free" is a pretty cool tone barbie pink
  • My Favorite dark shadow is"Girly" a duo chrome which is a beige pink color which speaks of green. It is an interesting color for sure.

On to the bottom half of the palette. It hold two blushes that I wish had deeper pigmentation. there also alittle powdery when applied. So I usually just end up using what ever other blush I have. The colors are a pink and a peach color.
The chocolate soleil bronzer is on the lighter side of bronzers too. I have to pack on the color to see it show up.
You'll also learn that I love highlights and wear one everyday because it gives the face a glow and so youthful. So when I saw that the palette had a highlighter I got  so excited. I like highlighters that are pigmented so I'll just need a swipe and I'll be done. Well the one in this kit is quite sheer so it takes me quite a few swipes to get any color.

Also included is a deluxe size too faced mascara. I use it everyday and dont see a big difference in any other mascara I have. I apply another mascara over it so it doesnt flake off.

Overall I'am very pleased with this set and happy I could get my hands on it. The shadows are insanly pigmented and great color selection. It has a great mix of neutral and more colorful colors. Just Great quality you expect from Too faced cosmetices.

Sephora's Glitter liners

So I recently went to Sephora to see that they had a set of five mini liners for only $10. Orginally for the holiday they were $16 so it was a good sale.
Even though these are mini sizes I think they'll last quite awhile since I don't always wear glitter liners.
The first liner is called Glittering Emerald. It's such a beautiful bright teal color. Out of all I would say this one has the most glitter payoff. A lot of the glitter comes off in one swipe. The uniqueness of this color is so intriguing,I don't see a lot of duo chrome glitter liners. The glitters reflect blue and green. Perfect liner to add a pop of color to a natural eyeshadow look.

Next is the tinted black liner in Bewitched Black. It's this lightly colored black liner with silver glitter in it. When swatched it look like a very light application of black liner and silver reflects in it. I wouldn't say the black is pigmented enough to wear alone but maybe over a deeper colored black I could see it looking better.

Then we have Midnight Navy that I really wanted to have it workout for me. It is this mix of purple and navy glitters. It looks so amazing in the tube but when I applied it I didn't get really any pigmentation. Just a watered down navy color. This is definitely the sheerest of them all.

On to VIP Gold. Its exactly what u would expect a gold liner to be. This one has a clear base and just the gold glitter in it. It you want an intense line with this you have to repeatably apply and reapply but it is build able.

Like the gold one Sassy Silver has a sheer base and just silver glitter in it. I wore it yesterday with a smoky silver eye and it just made the look ten times better. It held up all day with no fall out what so ever. Held exactly where I had placed it in the morning.

From playing around with these realized these are not dupes for Urban decays intensely pigmented liner but instead I see these as accent liners meaning just to place on top of another or to put in the inner corner of the eyes.

Urban Decay naked 3 Palette

This is the NEWEST Urban Decay Palette with 12 new rose hued Eye shadowes!
You can find this palette at Ultra,Urban Decay,Sephora for $52 dollars. It includes 4 sample size primer potions: original, eden, sin, and anti-aging. It also includes a dual eyeshadow brush, one side being a fluffy blender brush while the other side is a lid brush.I love that they included the brush,I use it everyday(sooo soft)
The packaging of the packaging is so darling with it's rippled effect on the cover. The rest of the case functions much the same as the Naked 2 palette.
As you look at the swatches I can't begin to tell you how Amazing the shadows are. No chalkiness what so ever! So silky and highly pigmented. There is not one eyeshadow in here I don't love. What an amazing idea to have a whole palette of rose hued colors. Not to worry their not super pink just the undertones are that Rosy color.

Color descriptions from bottom to top

Strange: is a matte pigmented creamy white color perfect for brow bone highlight. I'm so glad they put this shadow in here because it actually shows up on my skin

Dust: it's a light shimmery pinkie color. I usually put it over my lid color and it makes it look so sparkly that way

Burnout: it's a beige rose gold color

Limit: it's a matte light chocolate brown with rose undertone

Buzz: this is my favorite color, such a beautiful rose shimmer color.
I've used this color as my lid color and even as the crease color

Trick: A bold gold with lots of fine sparkles, a great pearly smooth finish

Nooner: it looks like a boring matte cool toned brown but it's actually looks like a rosy brown color on the lid, just beautiful and an unique color

Liar: a bronze rose color

Factory: A warm dark taupe color

Mugshot: deep purple rose golden shade

Dark side: A slate silver purple color

Black heart: a deep black purple shade with red micro glitter.
On the lid it comes out lighter and I don't notice the red glitters

This palette blew me away with the quality and uniqueness of the colors. I was on strike against getting this palette at first but when I swatched it I was awe struck at the colors. I have not seen another rose hued shadow quad that captures the neutral aspect of the shadows. Over all I could not have asked for a better palette. The price might seem steap but I waste so much money on cheapy palettes that I won't even end up using so atleast I know with this one I'll get so much use out of it!

My Sephora Birthday Gift!!

I'm so pleased with the Sephora Birthday Gift this year as my Birthday is in a couple of days.
It comes with the Watts up Highlighter cream stick and the They're Real mascara! It was such a nice pair, I've been wearing both items since I received the kit.

The mascara is my favorite mascara ever. With the silicon brush it coats all my lashes giving them huge volume. I had once purchased this mascara earlier in the year and run out and had not bought another since I thought I could find a dupe. Well I still haven't so I'm glad I got this sample size of it.

Pros:* Generous amount of volume
*Wet formula mascara
           *Stays all day,Doesn't smudge

Cons:The price

The Highlighter is so pigmented!! It is so different from normal powder highlights that can sometimes be chalky. This cream stick gives a glow from within sheen that I have never gotten from another highlighter. The color is a light gold color that makes your skin look dewy but not greasy.
For application I run it over my fingers to warm up the product and then dot and press it on  my check bones and it just melts into your skin not inter fearing with your other makeup.
*A tip to really give your face a great pop it under your brow bone*

I just wanted to end this post saying Happy birthday to you nomatter if your birthday was yesterday or way earlier in the this year!
